Don't Text Her is made and run by Ruddy, working independently. If you have a question about anything here, email hello@donttexther.com and I'll answer it myself.
This is short on purpose. There isn't much to tell you.
What I collect
Your email address. Three ways it reaches me: you buy the product, you create an account, or you ask for the free Don't-Send-That-Text Card. That's the only personal detail I ask for. There's no name field anywhere.
What you write in the app. Your day count, your urge scores, your notes, your Liar's List. This is stored against your account so it's there when you come back. I don't read it, and it isn't used for anything except showing it back to you.
Basic visit statistics. Page views, which page you came from, roughly which country. Aggregate numbers, not tied to you personally.
Advertising and measurement tools. I may use the Meta pixel to measure whether adverts work and to show adverts to people who visited the site. This sets cookies and shares with Meta the fact that a browser visited a page, and if you buy, that a purchase happened. It does not share what you wrote in the app. You can control this in your Meta ad settings, or block it with any standard content blocker.
What I don't collect
Card details. Payment is handled entirely by Gumroad, which is the merchant of record for every sale. I never see your card number. Gumroad's own privacy policy covers what they do with payment data.
Anything I'd sell. I don't sell, rent or trade your email address, and there is no circumstance in which I would.
Who else touches your data
Three companies, all of them acting on my instructions:
- Supabase — stores your account, your progress and the email list. Hosted in Singapore.
- Resend — sends the emails. They see your address and the message.
- Gumroad — takes the payment and sends the receipt.
That's the whole list.
Emails you'll get
If you bought the product: receipts, and anything you ask for such as a password reset.
If you asked for the free card: the card, then two more emails over the following week. Then nothing, unless I have something worth sending.
To stop them, reply "stop" to any of them, or email hello@donttexther.com. I'll remove you the same day. I don't require a reason.
How long I keep it
Your account and progress stay until you ask me to delete them. Email addresses on the free list stay until you unsubscribe, and I clear unsubscribed addresses periodically.
What you can ask me to do
Email hello@donttexther.com and I'll do any of these, free, without asking why:
- Tell you exactly what I hold about you
- Correct something that's wrong
- Delete your account and everything in it
- Take you off every list
If you're in the UK or EU, you have these rights under GDPR. If you're anywhere else, you have them because it's how this should work.
Age
This isn't for anyone under 18, and I don't knowingly collect anything from under-18s.
Changes
If this changes I'll update the date at the top. If it changes in a way that affects you, I'll email you.
